Jeremy’s Christmas List & other ways of using personas to inspire customers

This is a very simple but quite effective idea that I have noticed on a handful of retail sites this festive season. Instead of just having ‘gifts for him’, one or two sites have used personas to create lists of Christmas ideas to help inspire customers.

So Urban Outfitters (see first image below) has created a list of Staff Picks where 8 members of the team have chosen a set of products that they like.

Hotel Chocolat and Hackett, on the other hand, have created lists of products that their founders have singled out – Angus Thirwell has chosen his favourite chocolate gifts and Jeremy Hackett has suggested a range of clothes and accessories that appeals to him.

It’s very, very simple but it works very well I think, especially if you have a figurehead CEO that represents your brand, or if your staff members are tweeting or blogging and have a following.

Glad you like Jeremy Hackett’s Christmas List in our Online Christmas Shop at http://www.hackett.com/index.cfm?page=1406

We also use personal messages from Jeremy in email communications, which our customers tell us that they value and look forward to receiving.
