This week’s Email of the Week comes from Debenhams. I think it’s a good example of a retailer walking the walk when it comes to multi-channel. The email contains a media code for online purchases and printable vouchers that can be redeemed in-store. These have got a barcode on them, making it very easy for in-store staff to process them.
Since the early days of online shopping, some retailers have struggled to persuade their shop staff that the web is something to be welcomed rather than feared. Websites and online marketing really do drive customers into stores and these vouchers could help to demonstrate that.
